OCTA is upgrading to Wave, a new, more flexible fare payment system designed to make riding easier and more affordable. As part of the transition to Wave, some familiar programs and products will be phased out.
What's Going Away
The programs and products below will be replaced by the Wave system.
Paper Passes
Paper passes will stop being sold on board buses on October 15, 2025.

New Ways to pay with wave
OC Bus Rewards
When Wave launches in October, customers will automatically earn a fare capping benefit. Due to this, the loyalty reward program will end. Program members will be able to convert points into funds stored in a Wave account.

The OC Bus Mobile App will be replaced by the Wave Mobile App.
