Popular Metrolink service to Angel Stadium of Anaheim returns for 2019 season
ORANGE – Celebrate the start of the 2019 baseball season by taking Metrolink to weeknight games of the Angels opening series, beginning Thursday, April 4 against the Texas Rangers, and avoid traffic and parking hassles along the way.
Save money, too, by riding Metrolink’s special Angels Express fan train roundtrip for just $7 or less.
To celebrate the new season, OCTA is hosting an Angels Express Rally at the Irvine Station, 15215 Barranca Parkway, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5.
The rally will feature an appearance by former Angels infielder Bobby Grich, and giveaways from the Angels Strike Force pep squad. The event will include prizes, food and face painting before the Angels Express Train 643 departs from the Irvine Station at 6:05 p.m.
The Metrolink special train service, in partnership with the Orange County Transportation Authority, will run this season on every weeknight home game that starts at 7:07 p.m. in Orange County – and on Fridays from Los Angeles and Riverside counties.
Service to Anaheim’s ARTIC station will run along the Orange County Line from the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station, dropping off fans within a short walk to Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
Service to and from Los Angeles and Riverside counties is also available for Friday night home games. From Riverside, a transfer can be made at the Orange train station to the ARTIC station. Angels Express trains arrive at least 30 minutes before the first pitch and return trains leave 30 minutes after the final out.
The regular price is $7 round-trip, while tickets for seniors and disabled riders are $6, and children ages 6 to 17 years ride for $4. Children 5 and under ride free with an adult fare.
Tickets are available for purchase on game days only and can be purchased through the Metrolink app or at train stations by selecting the ‘Angels Express’ option on the ticket vending machines.
Angels Express riders can also purchase select Angels game tickets at 50 percent off regular price.
Last year, more than 37,000 fans got to an Angels game by using the service, which is also paid for by the Riverside County Transportation Commission and Los Angeles Metro.
